The Italy you do not yet know...

Liguria  is a region on the north-west coast of Italy. While overlooking the sea on one side, the other is surrounded by mountains and plush vegetation. Its ancient origins are home to palaeolithic remains such as the Toriano Grotto located on the western coast. This region has been home to many poets including Byron and Shelley. In fact Shelly died in the Gulf of La Spezia which is why it is often referred to as The Poet's Gulf.
